About Us

The Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at Orange Park Medical Center is a three-year, community-based training program dedicated to developing the next generation of cardiovascular specialists. Located along the scenic St. Johns River just outside Jacksonville, the program serves a large and diverse population across Northeast Florida, providing fellows with extensive exposure to the full spectrum of cardiovascular disease.

Our mission is to cultivate highly skilled, thoughtful, and compassionate cardiologists prepared to deliver exceptional cardiovascular care. Through a rigorous blend of clinical training, procedural experience, academic inquiry, and mentorship, fellows develop the expertise necessary to practice modern cardiovascular medicine while preparing for advanced subspecialty training, including Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant, and Advanced Cardiac Imaging.

Orange Park Medical Center is a 365-bed tertiary care facility that functions as a regional STEMI, Stroke, and Level II Trauma Center, serving a catchment area that spans six counties throughout Northeast Florida. With more than $100 million in recent expansions and continued institutional growth, the hospital provides fellows with a dynamic clinical environment characterized by high patient volume, complex cardiovascular pathology, and broad procedural exposure.

Our faculty bring extensive experience in both clinical and interventional cardiovascular medicine and are deeply committed to fellow development. Through close mentorship, bedside teaching, structured conferences, and participation in scholarly activity, faculty guide fellows in building strong clinical judgment, technical proficiency, and professional leadership skills. Many faculty members also hold leadership positions within the hospital, further enriching fellows’ exposure to the administrative and organizational aspects of cardiovascular care delivery.
